Regardless, I'm really looking forward to the coming season. For some reason, I think F1 has gotten interesting again.

I'm going away to Rome over the weekend though, so I'll have to tape the qualifying and the race. Yes, I still use a VCR :D

Indeed, in a straight line quick would be an understatement. Though unlike many of the commentators I think they should be pretty good round the twisty circuits too.

It was quite shocking to see just how big their advantage down the straits was though. Still it's hard to see past Rossi for the title. I would have thought that last year initially too though.

Yes I think providing they don't have a major downturn in performance the Renaults could still be a title winning car. Like you though I believe their problem will be drivers. Fizzy is decent and there was time when I could have seen him competing for the tile. In a Damon Hill like way, the right car and consistency. Not through stunning races.

The last couple of years alongside Alonso have broke what chance he had of that happening I think.

As for Heikki Kovalainen, well who knows what the future holds for him but even in a good year I couldn't imagine him competing for the title this early in his career.

This year will tell us I think just how good Alonso is because even if the McLaren is fast I doubt it will be the best all round car. There's no doubt he's special (I'd expect Lewis Hamilton to be well in his shadow. Starting next to a driver like Alonso is a very hard way.) but we may just see how special this year perhaps.

The smart money is on Ferrari though. I think Massa looks like becoming a great driver. I'm not sure Kimmi seems quite like the driver of a few years ago where as Massa is on the up. That being said is Kimmi really needed a boost to get him going then he should have it with the new berth. He's certainly exciting but I'm not convinced he is consistent enough. Hopefully he'll prove me wrong.

I like bike racing better for many reasons, one is certainly the racing. It's something F1 does need to sort out. Well, perhaps not need to but it should do so. Too often they penalise teams they deem to be dominant in an attempt to contrive some hot competition but it usually ends up in a competition that's not terribly visual.

They should change a few key rules in F1 and then leave it a good many years to let those rules work the changes needed and stop shifting the requirements every season. They'll never make the changes I want though.

Yeah, the Renaults are good, but I have my doubts about Fischicella. I predict that Renault will fall back in the constructors championship this year. My prognosis is Ferrari will win, McLaren will come in second and then Renault will grab the third place. After that, I really don't have any idea. I hope Toyota improves, but who knows.

I watch MotoGP now and then as well, but I prefer F1. I guess I'm just as much interested in the technical side of F1 as I am in the actual racing, and F1 is more focused on the technology.

Speaking of MotoGP, the new Ducati seems to be extremely quick, at least compared to the Yamaha. Stoner really flew by Rossi on the straights. Should be interesting to see how that pans out over the season.

Yes it should be exciting to see how things really stand for the new year.

The Renaults should still be good cars, technically they've been one of the best at developing new tricks to given an edge over the last few years. So it will be interesting to see how they do without Alonso and Interesting to see if he can drag up McLaren to the top again.

I do like other sports better, motogp (kicks the living daylights out of F1.) and football but I'm still an F1 fan too.
