Yeah, I recently switched from Outlook to Thunderbird because of the lack of spam filtering in the version of Outlook I had (I was lucky enough to have 2k old messages, a lot of which spam, with which to train Thunderbird's spam filter). Very, very good once I got it set up: setting it up though was VERY annoying (it didn't import from Outlook properly, so I had to do a lot manually, and I couldn't find the way to use several different SMTP servers at first).
Only one problem I have currently: I can't find a way to set it up with my HTML based Lycos mail account. Not a big deal, since I never used it, but worth noting.

Though I've had to support the IE/OE minions, I've always used Netscape products. The email in the Netscape 4.x series was standards compliant, properly quoted the text above your reply, sent out your mail nicely formatted instead of one long line, I could go on.

When Mozilla became mature enough around 0.8, I made the switch from the old Netscape client. Today I run Firefox and Thunderbird, I'm very happy with the combo and I've been testing Sunbird for my calendar.

Glad you've made the switch.
