Of course, cons included: Low, equal salaries, whatever you do (a doctor officially earned the same as a factory worker, the same as a schoolteacher, the same as a mechanic: 150 rubles, base salary). Corruption (unofficially, doctors earned a lot more than 150 rubles). Chronic product deficits. Jail, if you felt you deserved more than 150 rubles.
